Sarri odds-on for Chelsea job

Maurizio Sarri has been made odds-on favourite to succeed Antonio Conte as Chelsea boss after his departure from Napoli was confirmed.

59-year-old Sarri is leaving his hometown club after three seasons, which has seen two second placed finishes and a third.

“I’d like to thank Maurizio Sarri for his valuable contribution to the Napoli cause,” said Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.

Napoli have wasted little time in replacing him with the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti.

Former banker Sarri is now being strongly tipped to land the Chelsea job, with Conte expected to be axed imminently.

Sarri has now been made 1/4 favourite to land the Chelsea job, which is an 80% probability.

“We’ve been knocked over with interest in the Sarri becoming the next permanent Chelsea manager where he is now the clear odds-on favourite to take over the reins from Antonio Conte,” said Coral’s John Hill.
