Solskjaer odds slashed further after Paris miracle

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his odds slashed on becoming permanent Manchester United manager after their miraculous win over Paris Saint Germain.

The Norwegian took over in mid-December, succeeding Jose Mourinho – but few could have predicted the success that has followed.

In the 17 games he has taken charge of thus far, Solskjaer has won 14 of 17 games, losing just once – the first leg against PSG, and they overturned that on Wednesday in spectacular fashion.

He was already odds-on for the role ahead of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, but now he is a short as 1/12 – which is a probability of more than 90%.

Solskjaer himself admits the win in Paris was something special.

“It’s a typical Manchester United night, we had a game plan, the players were really great, they were focused, they listened to all the instructions like in training, and on the pitch they knew that we had to defend well, very low,” he said,

“There was a lot of quality, it’s the best possible scenario with the fans, the players, the staff, everyone shares a huge pride, we knew that we would have to suffer.”

BetVictor now make Solskjaer firm favourite, and their Head of antepost Football Michael Triffitt confirmed: “He has shortened into 1-12 from 1-4 to be in charge at the start of next season.”
