Southampton are ready to launch a bid to bring Calum Chambers back to St Mary’s.
The 22-year-old had a successful season on-loan at Middlesbrough last term, but he is unsure of his future at The Emirates with Rob Holding’s progress pushing him further down the pecking order.
A number of sides have already expressed an interest in loan bids for Chambers, including the likes of Newcastle, Everton and Bournemouth.
However, Southampton are ready to offer Arsenal more than £20million for Chambers – which is above the £16million they paid for him in 2014.
Chambers is currently on Under-21 duty with England, but is set to hold talks with Arsenal when he returns.
Currently bookmakers make Newcastle favourites to land Chambers at 4/1 – with BetVictor listing Southampton at 8/1 to land him.
