Spurs ready offers for Eriksen and Alderweireld

Tottenham are ready to offer new deals to star duo, and contract rebels, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld.

Both players have expressed their desire to move on, but Spurs believe that their desire to push for the title could see them sign new deals, and they believe the club record signing of Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele.

Eriksen confirmed earlier this year that he was thinking about his future and was ready to leave, and Spurs have a real issue as the Dane’s contract is due to expire next summer – meaning he could move on a free transfer.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked, but with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric remaining, and with a strong interest in Manchester United’s Paul Pogba – a move to the Santiago Bernabeu at this stage looks unlikely.

United, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are amongst the clubs to show an interest in Eriksen, but as it stands nothing is imminent and Spurs are ready to put forward a new offer.

Sources have told us that Spurs are ready to put Eriksen on the same salary as captain Harry Kane, and they might even include a release clause should the Dane still desire to quit the club at a later date – although that would certainly be north of £100million.

And Spurs’ hierarchy hope Eriksen will be persuaded to stay after showing their ambition with the Ndombele acquisition – and likewise they will also turn their attention to Alderweireld.

The Belgian defender, like Eriksen, is out-of-contract, next summer after Spurs chose to use an option they had on the 30-year-old – although that also means he has a £25million release clause, which a number of clubs are considering exercising.

Alderweireld considered Spurs’ previous offers unacceptable – but they believe they can make him an acceptable offer, and fend of interest from a host of clubs – with Roma the latest to show an interest.

After landing both Ndombele and Leeds’ Jack Clarke, Spurs hope they can follow that up by persuading both Eriksen and Alderweireld to re-sign.

And Bookmakers believe there is a very good chance both will be staying at Tottenham this summer. Eriksen is 5/4 with PaddyPower to remain, whilst Real Madrid are seen as favourites to land him at 5/6.

As it stands Roma are favourites to land Alderweireld and are priced at 3/10.
