Steven Gerrard is odds-on favourite to land the Rangers job, after it emerged he was on their shortlist to become their new boss.
Rangers are not sticking with Graeme Murty, who was appointed interim boss following the sacking of Pedro Caixinha earlier in the season.
Now the search is on for a new Ibrox boss, and Gerrard – currently Under-18 boss for his beloved Liverpool – is under serious consideration.
Indeed, PaddyPower make him as short as 4/9 ahead of Cardiff boss Neil Warnock and Frank de Boer – who is a former Rangers player.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Signing a manager with no managerial experience? No bother. Rangers need all the help they can get to return to their former glory.
“So, step forward Stevie G. We’d be very intrigued to see what a meeting of minds with his old boss Brendan would look like.”
