The Super League Grand Final will be decided this week as the play-off semi-finals take place.

With holders Wigan already out, the favourites for the title are League winners Castleford Tigers, who host St Helens, The other semi sees second placed Leeds Rhinos entertain Hull.

Castleford boss Daryl Powell is confident his side can continue their good form and book a spot in next weekend’s Grand Final.

“We have played a lot of big games and come out on top,” said Powell. “This is a very, very big game. We need to play well and deliver, prove we are good enough to do it. It is up to the players to handle what it stands for and what it gets you if you win it.

“I think we will be all right; we have got plenty of experience and we’ve just got to turn up on the day and be too good for our opposition.”

Saints coach Justin Holbrook took charge midway through the season but has guided them into the top-four and he is now up-beat about their chances, and they arrive at The Jungle as one of the only teams to have beaten them their in the last 12-months having tasted victory in the opening round of the Super 8s.

“It’s always good to have that in the back of your mind, knowing you have won there. It’s a very tough place to play,” said Holbrook.

The other semi-final sees Leeds and Challenge Cup winners Hull clash, and win or lose it will be the final Headingley appearance for Rhinos legends Rob Burrow and Danny McGuire.

“We’d do it anyway for Rob and Magsy, but we’ve got to put that emotion to one side,” said Leeds coach Brian McDermott.

“There might some nervous emotion about them leaving that we have to manage.”

Hull boss Lee Radford is hopeful that his side can end a decade long run without a win at Leeds.

“Leeds at Leeds is a real tough gig – we haven’t won there in 10 years which just shows how tough it is, but if anyone is going to break it then it will be this squad,” he said.

“This is the most together and probably the most talented group I’ve had, and when you put those two together they work hand in hand with each other.
