St Helens and Salford clash in the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford, and we preview the action with Betfred.
St Helens vs Salford Red Devils
Betfred odds: Saints 3/10, Salford 3/1, Tie 20/1
Betfred says: So, the Betfred Super League Grand Final is now just a matter of days away. It’s been a truly brilliant season, and the big one on Saturday promises to deliver in the same vein.
Saints are favourites, and rightly so. They’ve, rather incredibly, lost just three games all season and after heartbreak in the Challenge Cup final two months ago they’ll be more determined as ever to finish their season on a high and send Justin Holbrook packing with the big prize.
Salford, on the other hand, are in their first ever Grand Final and there can be no questions about their heart and desire, or the fact they will leave absolutely everything on that Old Trafford turf. However, St Helens are the best team in the league on all given form and they’re not only well-rested but mainly injury-free, so they can beat the Red Devils again here.
Last time the two went head-to-head it was a close one, so it’s far from a formality, but ultimately Justin Holbrook’s men have had the better of Ian Watson’s outfit in 18 of their last 20 competitive meetings and can make that 19 on Saturday – with a margin of 12 or more points being the shout.
