We preview the weekend’s Super League action which means the final play-off to decide the Grand Final and also the Championship Play-off final – the Million Pound game.
Wigan Warriors vs Salford Red Devils
Betfred odds: Wigan 4/9, Salford 2/1, Tie 22/1
Betfred says: The Warriors come into the most important game of their season needing to pick themselves up off the canvas after a brutal defeat to potential final opponents Saints last week.
Salford, on the other hand, have been the form side in the Betfred Super League for the best part of half a season and they must be full of confidence coming into what is for them the most important game of the club’s history.
Typically, Wigan get the better of Salford when the two meet but on these terms the value may well be with the away side and they can triumph by at a small margin of six or more.
Toronto Wolfpack vs Featherstone Rovers
Betfred odds: Toronto 1/4, Featherstone 7/2, Tie 25/1
Betfred says: Toronto just missed out in the Million Pound Game last season, when London Broncos narrowly got the better of the Wolfpack in the low scoring 4-2 affair. It’s tough to imagine that will happen this time though, given they won all but one game in the Betfred Championship this season.
While Featherstone only managed fifth in the regular season, they’ve run the Wolfpack pretty close on both meetings this year so can give a good account of themselves – but ultimately it should be Toronto playing rugby in the Betfred Super League next season and they can win by at least ten points.
