The Super League fixture everyone has been waiting for is on Saturday as league leaders Castleford Tigers play host to reigning champions Wigan Warriors.

Leeds Rhinos could go top after 12 rounds if Wigan see off Daryl Powell’s Tigers.

Leeds Rhinos v Huddersfield Giants – 27th April – 20:00

This week’s action kick off with Leeds taking on out-of-sorts Huddersfield at Headingley Carnegie. While the Rhinos were brushing aside Doncaster in Challenge Cup action last weekend the Giants were embarrassed by Championship side Swinton Lions on home soil. Rick Stone’s Giants squad remains threadbare for the short trip along the M62 with Leroy Cudjoe (knee), Ukuma Ta’ai (back) and Tom Symonds (knee) all missing. Lee Gaskell, Izaac Farrell, Sam Rapira, Nathan Mason and Tyler Dickinson have dropped out of Stone’s squad to make way for Danny Brough, Jake Mamo, Jermaine McGillvary, Ryan Hinchcliffe and Paul Clough.

Hull FC v Warrington Wolves – 28th April – 20:00

Hull FC play host to Warrington with their tails up on the back of a fine 26-24 success over Castleford with just 12 men. The Black and Whites lost Liam Watts to a first-half red card for a high shot on Luke Gale. Watts picked up a two-game ban for the incident and will now miss the visit of the Wolves. Hull Fc will also be without Fetuli Talanoa and hooker Danny Houghton. Warrington were far from their best against Wakefield but showed excellent character to claim a late 22-20 success against Trinity. Warrington are now the league’s in-form team following four straight wins and have Mike Cooper, Matty Russell and Daryl Clark back in their 19-man squad.

St Helens v Leigh Centurions – 20:00

St Helens will be looking to cement their place in the top eight when struggling Leigh Centurions come to the Totally Wicked Stadium. Saints are still without a permanent head coach following Kieron Cunningham’s departure and lost their last outing following a narrow 16-14 loss. Leigh Centurions’ flying start is looking a distant memory and they only have survival on their minds after being dumped out of the Challenge Cup by Hull KR last time out. Jonah Cunningham, Luke Douglas and Ryan Morgan come in for Saints while Mitch Brown’s inclusion is Leigh’s only change.

Castleford Tigers v Wigan Warriors – 29th April – 19:00

This has all the potential to be the game of the season on Saturday and possible a Grand Final showdown as two of the league’s best go head-to-head. Tigers have been wobbling recently with defeats to Hull FC and St Helens while Wigan are finding their groove again following a late show against Catalans Dragons. Tigers boss Daryl Powell will be hoping playmaker Gale is fit to play after he suffered concussion against Hull FC. Wigan have injury problems of their own with Thomas Leuluai set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a broken jaw in their win over the Dragons.

Salford Red Devils v Widnes Vikings – 30th April – 15:00

Salford got the better of a plucky Toronto Wolfpack last weekend, although Justin Carney’s red card and subsequent investigation means the powerful winger will play no part against Widnes. The Vikings’ season looks to be up and running after Patrick Ah Van’s late try secured a crucial success over St Helens. It has been a season of struggle for Widnes, but back-to-back wins would be a massive shot in the arm for Denis Betts’ men.

Wakefield Trinity v Catalans Dragons – 15:00

Wakefield have already won away at Catalans this season so Chris Chester’s men will be looking to make it a double on Sunday. Wakefield looked impressive for much of their contest at Warrington before losing the points late on. The Dragons gave a spirited performance against Wigan only for a late barrage of tries gave the home side a comfortable success. Playmaker Liam Finn signed a new contract at Wakefield this week. The Dragons have won on their last three trips to Wakefield.
