We preview the latest round of Super League action including newly crowned Challenge Cup winners Warrington returning to action.
Salford Red Devils vs Warrington Wolves
Match odds: Salford 4/6, Warrington 11/8, Tie 22/1
Betfred says: This is a short turnaround for the Challenge Cup victors who are resting a few key players after Saturday’s Wembley showdown. Salford, who have beat the Wolves twice already this season, will be full of confidence but with Wire’s play-off spot far from secure they could take the win here by about 6pts – and represent great value to do so.
St Helens vs Castleford Tigers
Match odds: Saints 1/3, Castleford 11/4, Tie 25/1
Betfred says: Meanwhile, Saints will be looking to bounce back from Challenge Cup defeat with a home win against Castleford. The latter are battling for the play-offs while the Saints are home and dry, however it’s unlikely gaffer Justin Holbrook will let things slide and so his side could win this by 12pts.
Hull FC vs Huddersfield Giants
Match odds: Hull FC 2/7, Huddersfield 3/1, Tie 25/1
Betfred says: This represents a great chance for the Black & Whites to try and put some ground between themselves and the other sides fighting for the play-off positions. Huddersfield are looking likely relegation candidates at this point and the home side should win this comfortably by 10pts or more.
Catalans Dragons vs Hull KR
Match odds: Catalans 8/13, Hull KR 6/4, Tie 20/1
Betfred says: This is an absolute must-win for the Dragons who, with just three games to go, really need to be getting maximum points in their last fixtures. That fact, alongside the home advantage here, could see them triumph over Hull KR by a small margin of about 6pts.
London Broncos vs Leeds Rhinos
Match odds: London 7/4, Leeds 1/2, Tie 20/1
Betfred says: Leeds are just two points ahead of the bottom three on 18, and just points difference puts them ahead of Wakefield. This is a great chance for them to make a huge stride into surviving the danger zone this season, and they could do it well by about 10pts.
Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors
Match odds: Wakefield 2/1, Wigan 4/9, Tie 20/1
Betfred says: In typical fashion, Wigan have mounted a serious Grand Final push in the latter stages of the season, so much so that they’re now second favourites to win the Old Trafford showdown on October 12. They’ll surely be too strong for Wakefield here, and could win by the biggest margin of the round, by about 20pts.
