Super League Weekend Preview

There may be a reduced Super League schedule this week, but it throws up the most eagerly awaited contest of the season.

League leaders Warrington travel to St Helens – who only lost their unbeaten start to the season last week – on Friday evening.

Huddersfield Giants vs Castleford Tigers

Match odds: Huddersfield 13/8, Castleford 8/15, Tie 25/1

Betfred says: Huddersfield will be looking to bounce back after a narrow defeat to Wakefield last week but Castleford are riding high for a reason and will probably win by 12pts.

St Helens vs Warrington Wolves

Match odds: Saints 4/7, Warrington 6/4, Tie 20/1

Betfred says: It’s the big one, the most anticipated game of the season to date. Although Saints unexpectedly slipped up in France it remains hard not to fancy them at home and you can see them narrowly beating the new Betfred Super League leaders by about 4pts on Friday night.

Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors

Match odds: Wakefield EVS, Wigan 10/11, Tie 18/1

Betfred says: A very tough game to call between two clubs who have seemingly found their feet of late. The Warriors have the star quality so you’d have to fancy them to win by a small margin of about 2pts.

Catalans Dragons vs Hull FC

Match odds: Catalans 4/7, Hull FC 6/4, Tie 20/1

Betfred says: And finally, on Saturday it is Hull FC facing the unpredictable Catalans. The French side were supreme against Saints and could well maintain that form here against the Black and Whites, winning by 16pts.
