Tottenham odds drift after Kane blow

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Harry Kane will be sidelined until March with an ankle injury.

The England star picked up the injury in the final exchanges of Spurs’ lost to Manchester United on Sunday, and now they have revealed he will be missing for around six weeks.

Bookmakers have now reacted by increasing all of the odds on Tottenham and moving out Kane in the Golden Boot betting.

Spurs are out to 1/4 from 1/5 to finish in the top four, a huge 80/1 from 66/1 to win the Premier League and even-money from 5/6 to progress through the last 16 of the Champions League.

The biggest odds move is on Kane himself, who is out to 15/2 from 5/1 to return from his ankle injury and claim a third Premier League Golden Boot, while rivals Arsenal are into 4/1 from 11/2 to reclaim bragging rights in north London by finishing above Spurs.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Harry Kane is indispensable to Spurs and his injury comes at a crucial time of the season. It’s hard to see them re-joining the title race without their key man and they’re out to 80/1 for the Premier League, while Arsenal will sense there may be a way of replacing their bitter rivals in the top four.

“Arsenal have been cut to 4/1 from 11/2 to finish above Spurs and Kane himself has slipped down to fourth in the Golden Boot betting at 15/2.”

Price moves following Harry Kane injury news:
Top Four Finish –  1/4 from 1/5
Champions League last 16 qualification – Evens from 5/6
Harry Kane to win Golden Boot – 15/2 from 5/1
Premier League Title – 80/1 from 66/1
