Manchester United have announced that they have agreed terms with Everton for Romelu Lukaku, and they look to have fended off late renewed interest from Chelsea to land the striker.
In what has turned into the transfer saga of the summer, United shocked the footballing world when they made a move for Lukaku earlier this week when they had been on the verge of completing a move for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Lukaku has refused to return to Everton for pre-season training, which has not gone down too well at Goodison Park, and United have been waiting to be able to put him through a medical in LA, ahead of linking up with them on Monday – as United are flying out to America to being a pre-season tour on Sunday.
Chelsea had hoped they could persuade Lukaku to return to West London, but it is clear that the player has seemingly made up his mind about a move to Old Trafford in a deal which is worth an initial £75million but could rise to a world record £90million.

Wayne Rooney’s move to Everton will also go through this weekend and although not related, sources have told me that it has clearly helped United in their negotiations.
The majority of bookmakers have closed their markets but BetVictor are still going 1/7 on him to join United and it is 4/1 on him going to Chelsea.
