United given biggest price ever to beat City

Despite an up-turn in their form, Manchester United have never been a bigger price for their clash with rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

Bookmakers make United around 13/2 to beat City at the Etihad Stadium – something they accomplished last season.

United have never been as big as 13/2 for a single Premier League match, despite the fact they are coming into the game off the back of three wins – including beating Juventus in the Champions League in midweek.

However, City have smashed 12 goals in their last two games against Southampton and Shakhtar Donetsk meaning Bookmakers think a United win is highly unlikely.

City are odds-on at 4/11 to seal their 10th win of the season and 13/2 – the same price United are to win – to down their rivals 2-0.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “At 13/2, not only has it never been more unlikely for United to win a Manchester Derby, Jose Mourinho’s side has also never started a Premier League match with such big odds.

“You can’t write them off completely after they shrugged off odds of 9/2 to overcome Juventus on Wednesday night, but City are arguably the best in Europe at the moment while United are going through a bit of a rough patch to say the least.”
