It was memorable night for Manchester in the champions league as City secured progress into the knockout phase, whilst United recorded a famous win in Turin.

United were trailing archetypal wonder-strike from their former beau Cristiano Ronaldo, but like at Bournemouth at the weekend – they left it late with Juan Mata equalising before an own goal from Alex Sandro won it for them.

“A point or three would have changed little for Juventus, but three points makes a big difference to us,” said Jose Mourinho.
