Betting on Virgil van Dijk’s next club has been suspended after a flurry of bets on Liverpool to land the Southampton.
Van Dijk has been chased by almost all the Premier League’s top clubs, but reports claim that the Dutchman is ready to move to Anfield.
The defender was a 4/7 shot to move to Anfield over the weekend before falling to 1/8 this morning.
But the bookies have since closed the book altogether following reports that the Reds are ready to break the bank for his services.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Once again, the Reds look set to snatch another Saints star in the shape of Van Dijk. After months of speculation, it seems both clubs have come to an agreement and we won’t be taking any more bets on this market.”
