Watford are interested in bringing Slavisa Jokanovic back to Vicarage Road, but they look unlikely to get him back.
The Hornets have confirmed that Walter Mazzarri will be leaving the club following Sunday’s final game with Manchester CIty, and they are already considering options to replace him.
Jokanovic is the man who got Watford promoted back in 2015, but he did not stay as they failed to agree terms over his contract.
Now back at Fulham, Jokanovic has proved himself as one of the most highly-rated managers in English football. Indeed, following Fulham’s failure to get promoted to the Premier League through the play-offs, the Cottagers will be expected more than just Watford to take an interest.
However, I understand it will take a ‘very big’ offer to lure Jokanovic away from Fulham and Watford are unlikely to be the ones to do that.
They are also, unsurprisingly, have a real interest in Hull City boss Marco Silva – who although failed to save them from going down – showed himself as a top-class Premier League boss, and like Jokanovic is likely to have a lot of interest.
Former Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has also been strongly linked with the post.
