See below as we run through the tournaments for you including facts, odds and picks from our own golfing professional Cliff Jackson and Unibet.

WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP – MEXICO

  • Club de Golf Chapultepec, Mexico City, Mexico
  • First staged in 1999
  • Current champion is Phil Mickelson

OVERVIEW: The World Golf Championship weekends are now a stable diet of the golfing calendar and are considered amongst the finest events. The Mexico event is the first of the four tournaments that take place over the year.

The top players from the PGA Tour, Europe and the rest of the world are invited, and this year sees a stellar field competing with Phil Mickelson on hand to defend his title. Justin Thomas, fresh from his excellent showing at the Genesis Open, comes into the event as favourite which features nine of the world’s current top-ten – with only number one Juston Rose not making the event.

The pro’s point of view…

Our resident golf expert is Cliff Jackson. Cliff is a leading youth coach and PGA professional at the famed Seaton Carew Links – one of the oldest courses in the world.

Always a top-class field for World Golf Championship events and this one does not disappoint.

It is hard to pick a winner here but Justin Thomas has to be hard to beat. That aside and I wonder if the one of the big Europeans, like Tommy Fleetwood or Francesco Molinari could make a big impact.
