Weekly Golf Preview with 32Red

See below as we run through the main golf tournaments this week, including facts, odds and picks from our own golfing professional Cliff Jackson with odds from 32Red.

SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN OPEN

  • TPC at Summerlin, Nevada
  • First staged in 1983
  • Current champion – Bryson DeChambeau

OVERVIEW: The big Nevada tournament famed for being the sight of Tiger Woods’s first ever win on the PGA Tour. It is a popular tournament and always boasted a very good field and 2019 is no different!

Bryson DeChambeau is the defending champion and one of the favourites again, but it is world number one Brooks Koepka who is heading the betting.

OPEN DE ESPANA

  • Club de Campo Villa de Madrid
  • First staged in 1912
  • Current champion – Jon Rahm

OVERVIEW: The big Spanish event is a popular one, and it brings in good crowds who come to watch their home stars – of which there are a number at the moment – including defending champion Jon Rahm.

Rahm leads the betting as defending champion, but there is a strong Spanish flavour with Sergio Garcia and Rafa Cabrera-Bello also on hand to try and capture their home crown.

The pro’s point of view…

Our resident golf expert is Cliff Jackson. Cliff is a leading youth coach and PGA professional at the famed Seaton Carew Links – one of the oldest courses in the world.

Two very good events this week, both boasting very good fields.

In Nevada we have Brooks Koepka on show, but I do quite fancy Bryson DeChambeau to make a real push for the title again so I would go with him, and I also like Collin Morikwa again to do some damage.

As for Spain, and sorry to be boring but I am also going for defending champion Jon Rahm and Rafa Cabrera-Bello.

Cliff’s Picks…
Bryson DeChambeau at 16/1 with 32Red for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
Collin Morikwa at 25/1 with 32Red for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

Jon Rahm at 3/1 with 32Red for the BMW PGA Championship
Rafa Cabrera-Bello at 10/1 with 32Red for the BMW PGA Championship
