We run through the main golf tournaments every week and this week there is just one to look at, and that is the PGA Tour’s Alfred Palmer Invitational in Florida.
This includes facts, odds and picks from our own golfing professional Cliff Jackson with odds from 32Red.
ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL
OVERVIEW: The Arnold Palmer Invitational is one of only five tournaments given “invitational” status by the PGA Tour, and as such has a reduced field of only 120 players. In 2019, the event was added to the Open Qualifying Series, giving up to three non-exempt players entry into The Open.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational is one of the most popular events on the tour and attracts a fantastic field of world-class talent. Major winner Francesco Molinari is the defending champion but it is fellow Europeans Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood who come in as favourites.
Our resident golf expert is Cliff Jackson. Cliff is a leading youth coach and PGA professional at the famed Seaton Carew Links – one of the oldest courses in the world.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational is a great tournament, I love any event at Bay Hill – it is a great course.
I have been for Jason Day before and he gets another vote for me for a top-ten finish, but I do think the winner will be European and it could very well be Tommy Fleetwood – however, I am going with Rory McIlroy to take the win from the front.
Cliff’s Picks…
Jason Day @7/2 to finish top-ten at Arnold Palmer Invitational
Rory McIlroy @9/2 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational
