Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he has made a decision about his future, as odds are cut on him staying in charge.

The pressure is mounting on Wenger following their latest defeat at West Bromwich Albion, their fourth loss in five games – the worst run ever during the 20-years and more that Wenger has been in charge.

Wenger has never finished outside the top-four since arriving in North London, but they now sit some five points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool and are in real danger of missing out.

Wenger’s current contract expires at the end of the season, although despite the poor run – the club’s board have offered him a new deal – although members of the club’s hierarchy are looking at other options with owner Stan Kroenke’s son Josh – a board member himself – wanting Thierry Henry to come in.

Following the loss at The Hawthorns Wenger – who has already stated that he will be staying in management next season be it at Arsenal or not – confirmed a decision has been made.

“I know what I will do in my future. You will soon know, very soon,” he said.

“We do not necessarily worry about that. We are in a unique bad patch that we have not had for 20 years and that is more important for my future.”

We spoke to our Football Insider Graeme Bailey – who confirmed last month that Henry was wanted by Kroenke junior – and he feels Wenger’s time has to be coming to an end.

“When all is said and done, if you finish outside the top-four with Arsenal, you should be really worried about your job and does that warrant a new contract? I don’t think so,” he told TheGamblingTimes.com.

“The fans are turning now, and they just look so poor at the moment – lacking ideas, they are crying out for a change and if Wenger really does love the club, as I have no doubt he does, he needs to do the right thing and for me that is to let Arsenal bring a new manager in.”

Wenger is now favourite to be next Premier League manager to go at 5/2 – although it remains highly unlikely he will leave before the season’s end.

The odds on next manager sees Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as firm favourite – 5/2. Former Arsenal favourites Patrick Vieira and Henry, both strongly linked, are rated at 20/1 and 25/1 respectively.
