Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal’s board that he can persuade Kylian Mbappe to join Arsenal, if they can agree the deal.
Wenger, as you would expect, knew about Mbappe way before many other managers in Europe.

Monaco are set to lose a host of their big names this summer, after a brilliant season which saw them take the Ligue 1 title and reach the Champions League semi-finals.
The 18-year-old is widely seen as the best young player in world football, but I am told that Wenger is confident that if Mbappe does leave this summer – it will be for The Emirates.
I understand Arsenal have been in constant contact with Monaco in recent weeks, making sure they were aware of the Mbappe situation.
Monaco are not openly looking to sell Mbappe, with a host of their other stars looking set to leave t he Stade Louis II. Bernardo Silva has already departed, whilst the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Fabinho, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Djibril Sidibe and Thomas Lemar are all being linked with moves.
Mbappe himself has stated he is in no hurry to leave, but it remains to be seen if Monaco can resist.
Arsenal’s opening offer is reported to be worth £87million (€100million) which is less than a reported bid from Real Madrid earlier this summer – and some way short of what Monaco are likely to be looking for to part with Mbappe.
Bookmakers feel Mbappe’s most likely option next season is to stay at Monaco, with Real Madrid still favourites to sign him at 5/2 but Arsenal are next in the betting at 3/1.
