West Brom confirm Alan Pardew

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the appointment of Alan Pardew as their new head coach.

We revealed earlier this week that Pardew had agreed terms on a two-and-half-year deal and now West Brom have confirmed his arrival at The Hawthorns.

“The immediate challenge will be to get the results we need to pull ourselves up the table,” Pardew told West Brom’s official website.

“But I’m aware that while I’m joining one of the great, traditional clubs of English football, it is one determined to go forward in the Premier League.”

West Brom are without a win since August, and bet365 have opened a market on when he might get his first win, with his first game in charge coming up against his former club Crystal Palace on the weekend – which they are 29/20 to win.

“It was an all too tale for Albion in midweek with another late collapse, taking the tally to 10 points dropped from winning positions this season,” said bet365’s Steve Freeth.

“However, Pardew looks to have inherited a good squad, maybe the Baggies best ever in the Premier League, so he has plenty to work with.”

They are also 2/1 to be relegated, fifth favourites for the drop.
