West Ham consider Slaven Bilic position

West Ham United are considering the future of Slaven Bilic, sources have confirmed.

The Hammers have made a poor start to the season, with just two wins in nine games and that was compounded on Friday night with a dismal 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton

The pressure was already on Bilic, but now sources close to the club have told me that the hierarchy are indeed considering the Croat’s position as boss.

At this moment only one boss has been replaced in the Premier League so far, that being Frank de Boer at Crystal Palace – but West Ham are close to making it two.

A host of names have already been linked with Rafa Benitez and Marco Silva, two who were considered in the summer. Burnley’s Sean Dyche is known to have fans within the corridors of power at West Ham.

However, there are also some big names foreign coaches who are known to appeal, and they believe the chance of working at the London Stadium, could see them land a big name. Roberto Mancini, Carlo Ancelotti and Thomas Tuchel are some of the names being looked at.

Bookmakers have slashed the prices on Bilic, who is now odds-on to become the next Premier League manager to leave, just ahead of Everton boss Ronald Koeman.

BetVictor’s Head of the ante post Football Michael Triffitt told us: “Slaven Bilic and Ronald Koeman appear in a duel to avoid getting the sack next and following West Hams shock 3-0 loss at home to Brighton.

“The Croatian is new favourite at 1-3 from 10-1 . Koeman eases to 11/4 from 1-4 but after a damaging 2-1 home loss to Lyon on Thursday night in Europe must know only a rousing performance back at Goodison on Sunday can perhaps save him from the chop.”
