West Ham United are prepared to sell Andy Carroll this month, but only if their valuation is met.

The 29-year-old, who has 18-months left on his current deal at the London Stadium, has emerged as a target for Chelsea this month.

Antonio Conte wants an extra striking option, having failed to land his first option Fernando Llorente in the summer when Tottenham stepped in to snap him up from Swansea.

Now Carroll could be the man for Conte, but West Gam are demanding at least £20million for the former Newcastle striker and are happy to keep him at the club as they have already made it clear to Javier Hernandez that they won’t stop him from leaving this month.

Sources close to situation have told me that the player is ‘very happy’ with life at West Ham, but also ‘flattered’ by the links with Chelsea.

Speaking after their FA Cup clash with Shrewsbury, West Ham boss David Moyes said that a move is not imminent.

“At the moment Andy Carroll is one of my squad, I want to add to the squad, not lose players,” Moyes told the media.

“I know nothing about it. There have been a lot of rumours regarding a loan but as far as I know it has never officially come from Chelsea.”

Bookmakers firmly believe that Carroll is on his way to Stamford Bridge, and PaddyPower list him at 4/9 to join Chelsea – that is a near 70% probability.

“No, still doesn’t make sense. I think somebody must’ve swapped my keyboard keys around, as I’m sure that should be a more exotic – or just functioning – forward.”
