Tiger Woods is the clear favourite to win his golf challenge with great rival Phil Mickelson.
The two golfing legends have confirmed a winner-takes-all contest to be staged at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving Weekend in November.
The announcement has really caught the attention of fans.
“We’re going to have fun doing something that’s never been done before and have on pay-per-view and doing something, trying to showcase golf and showcase golf in a different way,” Woods said.
“As I said, this will be different. It’s fun to do something different in our sport and something that’s never been done before.”
Woods has been installed as 4/7 favourite, given his current return to form – which has seen him challenging in the last two Majors. Mickelson is rated at 11/8.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Given their history, we are expecting a competitive match because the bragging rights for these two are just as important as the €9m.
“Phil Mickelson has a win under his belt this year whereas Tiger hasn’t registered a tournament victory since 2013, but we have to give Woods the edge at 4/7 due to his recent bout of good form.”
