World Cup Preview – Group E | Brazil v Costa Rica – Serbia v Switzerland

Serbia will book their place in the last 16 of the World Cup if they beat Switzerland on Friday.

The Serbs are the only team in Group E with a win to their name and that means another three points will book their passage to the knockout phase.

Serbia coach Mladen Krstajic anticipates a difficult clash against the Swiss.

“Switzerland have participated in the last three World Cups and European Championship – 27 points in the qualification is remarkable! Their coach is very good, too,” he said.

Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic does not believe that people are respectful enough for their recent performances, including their opening draw with Brazil.

“Sometimes, there is a lack of recognition and that is a pity,” he said.

“Playing against Brazil and Spain, we demonstrated we could react, that this team always believes in itself and can get results. We will continue to play with this consistency.”

Brazil boss Tite is coming under pressure after their opening draw, and he admits they were anxious and that caught up on them.

“This kind of anxiety comes from the concern of playing a first game in a World Cup; even the coach is anxious.”
