Lionel Messi’s future is still not unknown as his new contract remains unsigned and he has refused to talk about it.
We reported last month that Manchester City are refusing to give up on the 30-year-old, whose current deal is due to at the end of the season.
Barcelona claim that a new deal has been agreed and signed off by Messi’s representatives – but the man himself is yet to put pen-to-paper, meaning he could in-fact sign a pre-contract with City in six weeks time.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen in the coming years or how I’m going to feel,” Messi said.
“I live from day to day. I am not focused on the future.”

Bookmakers are now starting to cut the odds around Messi leaving Barca.
Paddy Power have cut the price of Messi joining City in January from 25/1 to 16/1.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “It’s not going to happen. Is it? After the Neymar fiasco, though, who knows what bodge job Barcelona might perform next – still, at least they have a ready-made replacement in Gerard Deulofeu.
“The fact that City will even be able to talk to Messi in January is a terrifying prospect for the rest of the Premier League. And Raheem Sterling, who had just rediscovered his form.”
